Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27 at the time, he enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. He also appeared in The Killing, a drama series that was aired across the globe. Then, he appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other well-known Danish drama series. He also played an important role in Sherlock the show, a BBC drama where his character was Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. In the American television show House of Cards, his character was the President of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award for 2018 for his performance on the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was shown in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen can speak fluent English, Swedish, German as well as Danish in addition to his native language. He also has learned various accents. Mikkelsen claimed that he and his brother learned English initially through listening to Monty Python recordings and watching comedy sketches.
